Hello anyone still following this deserted tumblr :) So the past few months have been consumed devoted to relocating from Tennessee to Texas, so I couldn’t really focus on fun things like this. Plus packing, moving, and unpacking is not very glamorous. Anyways, here is a holiday greeting from my puppies to you! Hope your holidays are filled with geeky and glamorous wonder :)

Oh my goodness! Even though this submission from digitallungs is a little different from the other photos, it’s still:
1, awesome!!
2, a good filler since I’ve been slacking while I start classes and deal with other life changes.
And 3, it is our first submission!! How exciting!
Plus the makeup is unique and very well done. :) I’d love to know what you used to get this look!
Thanks so much for being our first submission :)

So I’m taking a little detour in posting, just for a moment. I’ll go right back to geekness (and oh do I have a couple good ones up my sleeve.)

I just wanted to take a moment to show a little of the glam aspect and also slip in a little plug for a friend while I’m at it.
Awhile back I won a contest from a friend’s line of amazing accessories called Body Farm and received a free necklace and the chance to model it for the company. And have just now, finally, gotten around to it.

So today is just The Glam:
Sinful Colors in “Snow Me White”
Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength in “Honeymoon Red” (a very nice blood red with a little shimmer)
I used my awesome Marbling and Dotting tool that you can find at Sephora. Painted the base white and proceeded to basically kind of glop on the red until I got the dripping blood effect. I am so in love with these nails!

By the way you can find Body Farm on:
Etsy
Tumblr
Facebook
Check out their amazing stuff. I love both of my necklaces and my awesome hair flower from them and wish I could buy up a ton of other goodies :)

Is it bad that I think my collection is small? I mean it fills up half a shoe box, and I probably still wouldn’t be content with it if it filled up an entire shoe box.

The Geek:
I have no idea where I got it, I’ve had it forever. But it’s Eevee! The cutest Pokemon ever. I’ll be honest with you, I never really got into Pokemon. It’s pretty much what happens when you’re a kid and told that things like Harry Potter and Pokemon are the devil, so you don’t really get a chance to get into them until later on in life. But that’s another story for my therapist.

The Glam:
My growing collection of my precious…err I mean my nail polishes…
It’s mostly Sinful Colors because they’re cheap and awesome (perfect combo), with a couple Sephora by OPI colors.
My next goal is to get a color similar to what Karen Gillan wears in the Van Gogh episode of Doctor Who, it’s a pale gray/lilac color and I want it.

So last weekend my local Sephora had a back to school special. There were reps from multiple brands but what had me going to the mall on a Saturday was the Bare Escentuals rep! She did a great job and I wanted to show her work off. I wish I had paid more attention to the things she used because I’ve remembered most but I think I’ve forgotten one eyeshadow.

Anyways

The Geek:
My C-3PO Lego from my AT-AT Lego set :) He seemed to match so I stuck him in the photo.

The Glam:
All Bare Escentuals. She used:

Prime Time Primer Shadow in “Gunmetal” (very nice stuff and a very nice base color, I felt bad washing it off at bedtime)
Eyeshadow in “Drama”, and “Cultured Pearl”
Buxom Mascara
Big & Bright Eyeliner in Charcoal

It’s a-me! Mario!

I told you I’d post something other than nail polish and here it is!

The Geek:
A lovely little statue of your favorite Italian plumbers and crew. This came from Club Nintendo.

The Glam:
Bowser here is holding two of my Bare Escentuals brushes. They came from the Pearl collection/gift set from QVC.
The small one is the “Full Tapered Shadow” brush. It is very good for lining and smudging as its more stiff and compact.
The other is the “Flawless Fan” brush. I use that one with an orange blush called “Vintage Pearl”. Its thin and doesn’t pick up a lot of powder, which is good so I don’t over do it and end up looking like an Oompa Loompa. I basically use it and the orange blush as a bronzer.

Ok I promise to eventually post something other than nail polish but it is my current obsession. And I couldn’t pass up posting this since the amazing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 came out this weekend. I was able to go to the midnight showing and did I mention it was amazing? Anyways these were my nails for the movie.

The Geek:
Well the nails themselves could be considered the geek but really the geek is my Time Turner. I was spinning it like crazy when we were waiting in line. I would love to have an accurate replica but all the jewelry on the WB Store website is quite pricey, and I’m not sure if I’d rather have that or their Luna Lovegood jewelry set.

The Glam:
I had wanted to do the 4 house colors but never got off my butt to go buy the dark blue and green.
The red, Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in “Honeymoon Red”
The yellow, Pure Ice in “Excuse Me” (I have yet to find the perfect yellow nail polish)
The technique, a toothpick and lots of patience. I need to invest in a thin brush for designs.

p.s. I’m totally a Hufflepuff by the way ;)

Ah sorry for the silence there. I have been so busy…and by busy I mean lazy…and by lazy I mean playing A LOT of Mass Effect. Both one and two.
I believe I have become quite spoiled by Bioware’s amazingness and now every other game just looks boring or cheap to me.
Anyways! These are my space/Mass Effect inspired nails.
All Sinful Colors brand thanks to Walgreens having them on sale for 1.99 and they do have some great colors.

The Geek:
Mass Effect 2 Collector’s Edition. This is the tin case that holds the discs (yes plural, its that amazing of a game it needs more than one disc). Featuring the default Commander Shepard in the ever recognizable N7 armor.

The Glam:
A coat of “Black on Black” (plain black polish)
Followed by a coat of “What’s Your Name” (the shimmering chameleon black color in the photo)
And on my ring finger a couple coats of the teal and purple glitter polish “Frenzy”

Now if you’ll excuse me I have some galaxy saving to do.

I’ll get us started with our first photo :)

I can’t tell you how happy these nails make me. I just look at them and am filled with happiness and smiles and unicorns every time. And its cheapo drugstore brand too!

The Glam:
-Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength in “Sweetheart” as a primer/undertone. (also the brand of my base and top coat)
-Sinful Colors in “I Miss You” (I don’t know why they’d name such a sparkly amazing color with a sad name)

The Geek:
My awesome transformer “Spyshot 6” that my husband got me as a Valentines gift this year.
